Senior Network Engineer
Your responsibilities
- Ensure the reliable operation of switching, routing, and wireless network infrastructure across data centers and campus environments
- Analyze and resolve network incidents and performance issues in accordance with defined SLAs
- Execute planned configuration changes, software updates, and lifecycle activities (e.g., firmware upgrades)
- Monitor network performance, perform capacity planning, and proactively identify and eliminate bottlenecks
Your qualifications
- A successfully completed university degree, ideally in computer science, or equivalent professional experience
- Fluent knowledge of both German and English; a communicative and independent personality
- Solid experience with Cisco Nexus switches (9000/7000/5000), including vPC, Spanning Tree, OSPF and BGP, as well as hands-on experience with Cisco ACI and APIC
- Strong expertise in Extreme Networks Fabric, including SPB, IS-IS and Layer 2/Layer 3 VSNs, plus experience with enterprise wireless environments
- Strong knowledge of routing, redundancy and network security, including MC-LAG, 802.1X, ACLs and RADIUS
- Basic knowledge of network automation using Ansible, Python or Terraform; relevant certifications such as CCNP Enterprise/Data Center or equivalent and ECE in Campus Fabric and/or Wireless are considered a plus
